Evelyn Loretta (Jordan) Spangler

Evelyn Loretta Spangler, 83, of Newnan, passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026, at home, surrounded by her family. She was born on June 17, 1942, in Atlanta, to the late Roma Jordan and the late Thelma Henderson Jordan. Evelyn lived a life characterized by devotion to her family, her faith, and her community. She was also preceded in death by her son, Billy Spangler.

Evelyn's caring nature extended beyond her family as she served her community through her work as a school bus driver with the Coweta County School System. Her dedication to the safety and well-being of the children she transported each day was a testament to her loving heart. A woman of unwavering faith, Evelyn was a member of Go Church in Newnan. She found great joy in participating in church trips with the women's group, where she forged lasting friendships and deepened her spiritual connections. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping trips and going out to eat with friends.

Survivors include her loving husband of 54 years, Gordon Spangler; children, Mary Ann Raymond, James T. Spangler, Gordon Robin Spangler and Anthony Spangler (Crystal); 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; brother, Steve Jordan; niece, Missy Jordan; and nephews, Chris Jordan and Blayne Hart.

Those who were blessed to know Evelyn will remember her as a loving and faith-filled woman. Her legacy is one of kindness, generosity, and unwavering commitment to her loved ones and her faith. Evelyn's life was a journey of love, a path marked by the countless lives she touched with her gentle spirit.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 23, 2026, at Hillcrest Chapel with Pastor Alan Matura officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens in Mableton. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at the funeral home.
